A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-Terminus of mouse LCAT (389-423 aa QPVHLLPMNETDHLNMVFSNKTLEHINAILLGAYR), different from the related human sequence by six amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by four amino acids.

Detected in blood plasma (PubMed:8820107). Produced and secreted by astrocytes (at protein level) (PubMed:19065001). Abundantly expressed in liver, brain and testis with highest levels in liver. In the brain, found in cerebellum, cerebral cortex, hippocampus and brain stem. Located to neurons and neuroglia. .

Lyophilized from 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.05mg sodium azide.
Reconstitution
Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500µg/ml.
Storage
At -20°C for 1 year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for 1 month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for a longer time. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
