Target
Chicken ITGA6/Integrin Alpha 6/CD49f
Synonyms
ITGA6 | CD49f | CD49f antigen | Integrin alpha6B | Integrin, alpha 6 | Integrin alpha-6 precursor | VLA-6 | Integrin alpha-6 | ITGA6B
Host
Mouse
Reactivity
Chicken (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
Clonality
IgG Monoclonal
Conjugations
Unconjugated. Also available conjugated with APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PE.
Purification
Purified
Modifications
Unmodified
Immunogen
Integrin alpha subunits purified from adult chicken brain tissue, denatured in 6 M guanidine isothiocyanate, and depleted of beta1 subunit.
Specificity
Reactive with chicken integrin alpha6, as demonstrated by experiments with cDNA-transfected NIH3T3 cells followed by immunoblots.
Applications
  • IHC
  • ICC
  • Western blot
  • Immunoprecipitation

Usage
Western Blot. Immunoprecipitation: Precipitates the monomeric alpha6 subunit after the dimeric receptor has been denatured, but does not precipitate the native receptor. Immunohistochemistry: Methanol-fixed cryosections. An overnight methanol fix is suggested. Previous experiments have used 14 micron sections of chicken embryonic tissue. Typical antibodies dilutions are 35 ug/ml, with overnight antibody incubation, followed by detection with a goat anti-mouse IgG-FITC secondary antibody. Immunocytochemistry: Methanol-fixed cultured cells (15 minute fixation). Western Blot: Recognizes a 130kD band in chicken brain tissue and a 140kD band in transfected NIH3T3 cells (the difference in molecular weight is likely due to differential glycosylation).
Presentation
PBS, pH 7.6, 0.1% Sodium Azide
Storage
Short term: store at 4°C. Long term: aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
