Recombinant p21 ras protein. Epitope: aa62-76 of human ras.

Recognizes phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated human, rat and mouse ras. Does not cross-react with the rap protein. Neutralizes the biological and biochemical activities by binding to residues E63, S65, A66, M67, Q70 and R73. Positive Controls: SW480 or Y1 cells (IF and IP); normal skin (IHC, frozen and paraffin); A431, Hela or ML-1 cells (WB).

Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Neutralization. Immunofluorescence: 2.5 ug/ml. Western Blot (chemiluminescence detection): 2.5 ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 5 ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry: 1-5 ug/ml. Staining of formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue requires pepsin pretreatment. Use saponin to permeablize. Immunoprecipitation (autoradiographic detection): 1 ug/sample SW480 or Y1 cells. Use rabbit anti-rat IgG plus Protein A or goat anti-rat IgG plus Protein G. Protein A alone will not immunoprecipitate rat IgG. Doublets corresponding to farnesylated- and non-farnesylated ras may be observed. Detects both phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated human ras as well as the p21 translational products of the H-, K- and N-ras human genes.
