Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration is a disorder of the cerebellum found in association with neoplasms of lung, ovary, breast, or Hodgkin's disease. Affected brains show extensive loss of Purkinje cells, variable loss of granule and basket neurons and proliferation of Bergman glia. These patients have a circulating antibody called anti-Yo. One of the proteins recognized by Yo is CDR2. CDR2 suppresses the transcriptional activity and DNA binding of nuclear factor-kappa B by and unknown mechanism.
Gene Name: | cerebellar degeneration-related protein 2, 62kDa |
Synonyms: | CDR2, CDR62, Yo paraneoplastic antigen, PCD17, Yo |
Target Sequences: | M63256 AAA51961.1 Q01850 |
