PPA2

pyrophosphatase (inorganic) 2

The protein encoded by this gene is localized to the mitochondrion, is highly similar to members of the inorganic pyrophosphatase (PPase) family, and contains the signature sequence essential for the catalytic activity of PPase. PPases catalyze the hydrolysis of pyrophosphate to inorganic phosphate, which is important for the phosphate metabolism of cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Gene Name: pyrophosphatase (inorganic) 2
Synonyms: PPA2, HSPC124, PPase 2, Pyrophosphatase SID6-306, Pyrophosphatase (inorganic) 2, SID6-306
Target Sequences: NM_006903 NP_008834.3 Q9H2U2

PPA2 Antibody - Immunohistochemistry Dilution at 1:200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human prostate tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal Goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated Secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
