PP2Ac / PPP2CA

protein phosphatase 2, catalytic subunit, alpha isozyme

Protein phosphatase 2A alpha (PPP2CA), is a PP2A type serine/threonine phosphatase. PP2A members are composed of a common heterodimeric core enzyme (a catalytic subunit C and a constant regulatory subunit PR65 or A) that associates with a wide variety of regulatory subunits (subunit B). PPP2CA is a catalytic subunit that plays a role in transcription, translation, cell cycle control, and the regulation of most major metabolic pathways. Additionally, it may function as a tumor promoter or suppressor depending on the cell type or the transforming agent.

Gene Name: protein phosphatase 2, catalytic subunit, alpha isozyme
Family/Subfamily: Protein Phosphatase , PP2A
Synonyms: PPP2CA, PP2Ac, PP2Calpha, ppp2A1, Protein phosphatase 2A alpha, Replication protein C, PP2CA, RP-C, PP2A-alpha
Target Sequences: NM_002715 NP_002706.1 P67775
