HTTY1 / TTYH1

tweety family member 1

HTTY1 / TTYH1 is a member of the tweety family of proteins. Members of this family function as chloride anion channels. The encoded protein functions as a calcium(2+)-independent, volume-sensitive large conductance chloride(-) channel. Three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.

Gene Name: tweety family member 1
Synonyms: TTYH1, HTTY1, Protein tweety homolog 1, Tweety (Drosophila) homolog 1, Tweety homolog 1 (Drosophila)
Target Sequences: NM_020659 NP_065710.1 Q9H313
