alpha tubulin acetyltransferase 1

Specifically acetylates 'Lys-40' in alpha-tubulin on the lumenal side of microtubules. Required for normal sperm flagellar function. Promotes microtubule destabilization and accelerates microtubule dynamics; this activity may be independent of acetylation activity. Promotes directional cell locomotion and chemotaxis, through AP2A2-dependent acetylation of alpha-tubulin at clathrin-coated pits that are concentrated at the leading edge of migrating cells. May facilitate primary cilium assembly.

C6orf134 / ATAT1 Antibody - Immunohistochemistry image at a dilution of 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0) . Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4 °C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
