AS3MT

arsenic (+3 oxidation state) methyltransferase

Catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from AdoMet to trivalent arsenicals producing methylated and dimethylated arsenicals. It methylates arsenite to form methylarsonate, Me-AsO3H2, which is reduced by methylarsonate reductase to methylarsonite, Me-As(OH)2. Methylarsonite is also a substrate and it is converted into the much less toxic compound dimethylarsinate (cacodylate), Me2As(O)-OH.

Gene Name: arsenic (+3 oxidation state) methyltransferase
Synonyms: AS3MT, Arsenite methyltransferase, CYT19, Methyltransferase cyt19, RP11-753C18.6
Target Sequences: NM_020682 NP_065733.2 Q9HBK9

AS3MT Antibody - Immunohistochemistry image at a dilution of 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human endometrial cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0) . Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4 °C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
