ALKBH5

AlkB, Alkylation Repair Homolog 5 (E. Coli)

Dioxygenase that demethylates RNA by oxidative demethylation: specifically demethylates N(6)-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA, the most prevalent internal modification of messenger RNA (mRNA) in higher eukaryotes. Requires molecular oxygen, alpha-ketoglutarate and iron. Demethylation of m6A mRNA affects mRNA processing and export and is required for spermatogenesis.

Gene Name: AlkB, Alkylation Repair Homolog 5 (E. Coli)
Synonyms: ALKBH5, ABH5, OFOXD, OFOXD1
Target Sequences: AK000315 BAA91078.1 Q6P6C2

ALKBH5 Antibody - Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using ALKBH5 antibody at 1:3000 dilution. The secondary antibody used was an HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates were loaded 25ug per lane and 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST was used for blocking. An ECL Kit was used for detection and the exposure time was 10s.
