AKAP6 / MAKAP

A kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 6

The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded protein is highly expressed in various brain regions and cardiac and skeletal muscle. It is specifically localized to the sarcoplasmic reticulum and nuclear membrane, and is involved in anchoring PKA to the nuclear membrane or sarcoplasmic reticulum.

Gene Name: A kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 6
Synonyms: AKAP6, ADAP100, A-kinase anchor protein 6, AKAP 100, AKAP-6, ADAP6, AKAP100, MAKAP, KIAA0311, PRKA6
Target Sequences: NM_004274 NP_004265.3 Q13023

AKAP6 / MAKAP Antibody - 1:100 staining mouse muscle tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22°C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.

AKAP6 / MAKAP Antibody - Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using AKAP6 antibody at 1:3000 dilution. The secondary antibody used was an HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates were loaded 25ug per lane and 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST was used for blocking. An ECL Kit was used for detection and the exposure time was 90s.
