NTF3 (Neurotrophin 3) is a nerve growth factor protein that regulates neuronal survival and differentiation. It is thought to participate in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and may influence the development of neurons in the embryo. NTF3-deficient mice show severe movement defects of the limbs. In immunohistochemistry, NTF3 has secretory positivity in the brain and peripheral tissues, and is found at variable low levels in other organs and tissues throughout the body.
