NPY5R (Neuropeptide Y receptor type 5) is a receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. It is associated with food intake and could be involved in feeding disorders. In neuroblastoma, copy-number alterations in NPY5R have been observed, and it is overexpressed specifically in chemotherapy-treated tumors and is thought to be involved in a chemoresistant pro-survival loop.
