Neuropeptides B/W receptor 2 (NPBWR2, GPR8) interacts specifically with a number of opioid ligands. NPBWR2 is a receptor for neuropeptides B and W, which regulate fear and stress. In immunohistochemistry, NPBWR2 has membranous positivity primarily in the frontal cortex of the brain, with some positivity in the basal ganglia and olfactory regions as well as the adrenal and pituitary glands.
