Neuromedin U receptor 2 (NMUR2) is a receptor for neuromedin, a neuropeptide that is widely distributed in the gut and central nervous system. NMUR2 plays an important role in the regulation of food intake and body weight. In immunohistochemistry, NMUR2 has highest membranous and cytoplasmic positivity in the seminiferous ducts of the testes and in the spinal cord, and is also found in the cerebral cortex and at lower levels throughout the nervous system, in the stomach, thyroid, lung, and at low levels in various other tissues throughout the body.
