Fascin-1 (FSCN1) is a member of the fascin family of actin binding proteins that organize F-actin into parallel bundles, and are required for the formation of actin-based cell protrusions. The protein plays a role in cell migration, motility, adhesion and cell to cell interactions. The protein is expressed in seminiferous tubules, glial cells, endothelia, fibroblasts, macrophages, and Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
