CD3 is an integral membrane glycoprotein that associates with T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) and is required for TCR cell surface expression and signal transduction. It is a highly specific marker for normal T-lymphocytes, thymocytes, and T-cell malignancies. It is negative in B-cells.
