An 11 residue synthetic peptide, LSRQL[pS]SGVSE(C) corresponding to amino acids 77-87 of human Hsp27 with a cysteine (C) residue added and the peptide coupled to KLH.

Specificity
Detects an ~27kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of phosphorylated Hsp27 (Ser82) on SDS-PAGE immunoblots. Species cross-reactivity: human, bovine, canine, chicken, guinea pig and sheep. This antibody is specific for phosphorylated Hsp27 (Ser82) and does not exhibit reactivity with non-phosphorylated Hsp27. Specificity for phospho-Hsp27 was demonstrated in peptide competition studies with phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated peptides.
