KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 937-949 (CHQRRTQRKETVA) of rat GluR5-2C isoform precursor. This sequence is identical in rat isoforms GluR5-2 and GluR5-2B/GluR5-1 and human GluR5 isoform 2/EAA3A, and is not present in rat isoform GluR5-2A and human GluR5 isoform 1. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Elephant, Panda, Rabbit (100%); Bovine, Horse (92%); Chicken, Lizard (85%).

Recognizes GluR5 isoforms, Mr 105-110kD. Species cross-reactivity: Rat. Predicted to cross-react with certain human and mouse GluR5 isoforms, based on sequence homology.

Applications

Western blot (0.5 - 2 µg/ml)

Usage

Suitable for use in Western Blot. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2 ug/ml detects GluR5 in RIPA lysates from a rat brain microsomal preparation. Western Blot Analysis: Rat brain microsomal preparation was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-GluR5 (2 ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
